Snacks are a very important part of a successful plan-plan the time of your snacks to be consistent from day to day.  Spread a possible three snacks throughout the day, leaving one for about thirty minutes to an hour before going to bed.  A snack before bed will ensure that the blood sugar level doesn't drop too low while sleeping.

Consume a serving of one item that contains vitamin A on a daily basis.  Vitamin A is an antioxidant.  It also aids in new cell growth and protects against heart disease.
