Causes of Type 2 Diabetes The causes of type 2 diabetes add up to a number of contributing factors. It is believed that the largest known cause is the predisposition of diabetes through genetic inheritance. If your mother and/or your father have diabetes, there is a good possibly that you will have the trait passed to you. This doesn't mean that it will appear right away, but it could be triggered by a poor diet, being overweight or very little exercise. Poor diet-A high sugar diet or one filled with excess carbohydrates will raise the percentages of being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. It is suggested that an individual maintain healthy eating habits by sticking to a plan that includes at least one serving of fruits and vegetables every meal. A reduction of fatty foods and unhealthy snacks will also reduce the chances of being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. Obesity-This is becoming a global epidemic that is greatly increasing the chances for type 2 diabetes with many individuals. Obesity can be tied to either genetics or environmental factors. Primarily, the main concern is with diet habits that have created an increase in obesity in the population of younger children and teens. Poor exercise-A decreased level of exercise increases the chances of being diagnosed with diabetes. Exercise increases circulations and utilizes the energy within the cells. Exercise also reduces weight, further lowering the susceptibility of type 2 diabetes. Inactivity can also attribute to an increased risk. Causes of type 2 diabetes with children are relatively the same as with adults. Though children are more likely to encounter type 1 diabetes (diabetes mellitus), there are a growing number of cases of type 2 diabetes that are being reported. Causes of diabetes mellitus in children are often linked to hereditary factors but can also include the above three factors that are listed above. Other causes of type 2 diabetes Ethnicity can play a large role in determining if an individual has a greater chance of being diagnosed with diabetes. Those at a higher risk include African Americans, Native Americans (and Alaskans), Hispanics and Asian Americans. High blood pressure can be a determining factor in creating a higher risk of type 2 diabetes. A low salt diet can aid in keeping blood pressure levels to a minimal. Age can be a determining factor. Over 18% of elderly Americans over the age of 65 have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. Plastic in BloodStreams is a Possible Cause of Diabetes According to a scientific study ,People exposed to higher levels of a chemical in plastic food and beverage containers (Bisphrnol-A) are more likely to develop cardiovascular disease and diabetes . According to studies, Bisphenol-A suppresses adiponectin (the hormone in fat that is part of the system that regulates how much additional fat our bodies put away). It is a leading cause of obesity amongst people. It is estimated that 21 million people are afflicted with type 2 diabetes in the United States alone. This is an issue that has continuously grown through time, and there are no signs that it is going to get better. With all the symptoms that are related to type 2 diabetes, it is better to examine the causes that lead to this condition. If you are at risk, there is still a chance that the odds can be greatly reduced, but it may take immediate action. The results of reversing the causes of type 2 diabetes are longevity of life, more control over lifestyle, a healthy outlook for the future (with diet and exercise) and the peace of mind that you have done everything you can with the knowledge received.
